Well, we just finished up our January classes and projects and everyone had a great time! Here is a picture of all the completed projects:

The first card we did was a darling Valentine’s card for my granddaughters using the Greeting Card Kids stamp set. I have to admit that I had not thought about doing a child’s Valentine’s card until my friend Sharon exclaimed how could I have a class without a cute card for my granddaughters and this is what I came up with, so Sharon – this card is for you!

I first cut the card size 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 inches and using a 2-1/2 circle die, cut out the center of the front of the card. I then stamped the girl image through the hole in the front, centering her. I then sponged in some clouds using a scallop circle to create the clouds, sponged in Pear Pizazz for the “grass” to complete my background scene. Then I colored the girl in and added Dazzling Diamonds for the bottom part of her dress, and her bow. Then using the flower and heart stamp from “Filled With Love” stamp then stamped around the front of the card and then sponged around with Pear Pizzaz. I used Dazzling Diamonds around that with our 2-way glue. Then I cut out the banner after stamping the Be My Valentine stamp with Regal Rose ink, added more Dazzling Diamonds to that, and adhered it to the bottom of the circle with dimensionals. I then made a bow from the Pretty In Pink 3/8 inch Taffeta ribbon and attached it to the top with a glue dot. It turned out darling! This is a tent card and so I cut a 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 strip for the bottom, scored it every 1/2 inch, and then folded it mountain and valley style and at each end applied sticky strip and then adhered it to the inside front and back of the card so that it will stand open.

Well, then I just had to make another one for my friends who have little grandsons, so here is a picture of a little boy’s Valentine card using just the boy figure from the Greeting Card Kids stamp set:

The next one is a cute owl calendar for 2011 – here is a closer picture of that:

The second one was a cute Candy holder that will hold a full sized candy bar – pull up on the ribbon and the candy bar slides up!

Dimensions were: 6-1/2 x 6-1/2 sheet of decorated card stock, score at 2-1/2, 2-1/2 and 5 and 5-1/4 inches. Fold on score lines, punch a hole using the horizontal slot punch in the middle of the first and second panels between the score lines, but not on the third one. Feed your smooth 22 inch ribbon ends through each of the punched holes, place your candy bar in between the ribbon. Then using sticky tape, place tape along one end and fold over, closing over the candy bar, but not too snug so that you can pull on the ribbon and slide it up. With the candy bar pushed all the way down, tie a double knot on top, decorate the front, and you are all set with a cute little treat!

I used the stamp set “Be My Valentine” (Item 122045 for only $8.95), Scallop Trim Border Punch, Horizontal slot punch, Blushing Bride paper, black paper, and stamped the Valentine in Rose Red ink. I then cut out the valentine and placed it on the square of black with a dimensional.

The next project we did was a beautiful Valentine’s card below:

This card was done using the Filled With Love stamp set. Using the En Francais background stamp, I stamped in Versamark on black paper and used clear embossing power and then cut into strips the black paper used for this card. I then used our 2-1/2 inch punch and 2-3/4 inch circle nestability to cut out the white and black circles. I punched out the hearts with our punches out of our beautiful glittery red paper. I stamped in silver the images. After I stamped the sentiment, I sponged around it using black ink. This was inspired by Mary’s card except I added the embossed black strips which really added some extra shimmer. I also used glossy card stock for my card base, but our regular beautiful white whisper paper to give this card the layered look of white on white.
