HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  Thought I’d share the card I made for my three beautiful daughters and also my mom for Valentine’s Day.  I cased this card that I saw and fell in love with, but cannot remember who originally did it, however they had used the laser cut cards found on Page 9 in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I did not have them, so read below on how I created this “look” without the laser cut card.

Using the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies, I cut out a heart on my card front.  Next, I stamped the heart from the set You Are Loved in craft white onto one of our window sheets, sprinkled on clear embossing power, and heat embossed (you have to be careful to not overheat so as not to curl the transparency window sheet).  I then used the Framelits Die to cut out the heart a size larger than the one used to cut out the front of the card (did you know that the Hearts Collection Dies matched that set?).  I then applied adhesive and applied it over the cut out heart on the front, creating a window effect.  I applied it so the embossed image was facing down.  I then applied the different layers and found some gold metallic ink and used that to color our silver glitter paper to create a “gold” heart.  I then popped it up using dimensionals and also popped up the Blushing Bride heart using dimensionals.     Then I took a Blushing Bride heart and lined it up on the inside of the card so that with the card closed, the soft color comes through.    I threw these cards together JUST before they arrived for their Valentine’s Day brunch – always at the LAST MINUTE!  They loved their cards…. whew!!!

Also, using our cute and fun Maze Game on Page 31 in the catalog, I gave these to my granddaughters in their gifts from us.  Did you know that you can just pop off the back of these, stamp them with the matching Totally A-maze-ing stamp set, then pop them back on??  I was delighted to discover this.  I also have a custom stamp with their name and then stamped their name so they don’t get them mixed up with their sister’s, and they were like, “Look Mommy – my name is on it!” – BONUS!!  Thank you Stampin’ Up!

Hope your Valentine’s Day is special!

Stampin’ Hugs!
