Hi Everyone! Just thought I’d share with you what I’ve been doing this week – making strawberry jam! Here’s some photos with the last one showing how I created a label using this week’s new download, Friendship Preserves, #131228 (click here) for ONLY $3.95!
You gotta start with some beautiful fresh strawberries:
Cut off the tops and wash them really good…
Then because I prefer jam to jelly, I crush them up in my food processor until there are just some chunks of fruit that you can see, but nothing really large…
Now you add your sugar – 4 cups to 2 cups of the strawberries… and this IS my low-cal recipe – LOL!!
Once that is all mixed well, you have to then catch your granddaughter (Savannah) taste testing it for you…
Then you just cook up the SureJel like this…
You add it to your prepared fruit:
Then it’s just pouring it into your containers, letting it sit for 24 hours, then throw it in the freezer! Quick, simple, and oh SO GOOD! I prefer mine a little less jelled so we can have it over some vanilla ice cream during the winter months… sooo good!
Now for those tiny jars, ya gotta make a label for them because they are going to be a gift for some very special people. HOWEVER, the Friendship Preserves stamp set was too large and I needed something smaller, soooo…. how cool was it that Stampin’ Up! came out with this set as a digital download – great, right? I just had to buy it, then sized it to fit the smallest die in thecoordinating Framelits Dies called Window Frames Collection. I then printed out the “Yum” image and using my Big Shot, cut out the image perfectly! I just used my Gumball Green marker and colored in the leaves and then popped it up on a scalloped circle with a dimensional. Here is my label – what do you think???
Some very special people are going to be enjoying this this weekend!
I hope you enjoyed my post and try some quick and easy strawberry jam yourself. AND don’t forget how digital downloads can come in very handy for so many projects!
Stampin’ Hugs!

Yummy! Great tag too!
Yet it definitely looks yummy – both the jam AND the label!!
