Hi everyone! Wanted to share with you what we did for our August class – we had a PARTY! I had a class on how you can use our designer paper (which I have soooo much of) to make your own party decorations! We learned how to make pinwheels, we decorated water bottles, we made Chinese lanterns, and used Patio Party in MDS to create banners for the windows and little flags to decorate cupcakes. I hope you enjoy seeing what we all did. Here are the pinwheels we made using 12×12 paper, 10×10 paper, 8×8 paper, 6×6 and 4×4 paper sizes:
Here are the Chinese Lanterns:
Here are the banners we did using Patio Party in MDS – I just printed them out, cut them out and adhered them onto a string to hang!
I then made them smaller so I could place them on the patio door going to the deck:
Here are the decorations we made – sticks that will go into cupcakes and also little flags along with decorated straws:
Then, we used our scrap pieces of designer paper and adhered it around the label of a water bottle. I had found some chalkboard decals at Joanne’s and using our Decorative Label punch, we punched out a piece of the decal and then adhered it to the front of the water bottle so that everyone could just pick up a piece of chalk and write their name on the label so they knew which bottle of water was theirs – it was so great to know the backwash in the bottle was really yours – I’m JUST SAYING….
And then, every August we do a fabric project and so we made these cute scissor holders using the Pedal Cone die, our fabric adhesive and our wonderful fabric run through the Big Shot, along with using the smaller flower from the Flower Folds die using coordinating fabric for the flower. Then we placed a cute button and some Baker’s twine to complete this fun project. This was all done using our fabric adhesive, the Big Shot, our fabric, a piece of felt, and a glue gun – no sewing required! I even then made these for my granddaughters to put in their desks at school to hold their scissors – just a little something so they can think of Grandma!
I hope you enjoyed looking at what we did for August! I hope you are enjoying these last days of summer and have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
Hugs!
