STAMPIN’ UP! VALENTINE IDEA FOR YOUR CHILD

I wanted to share with you a Valentine’s idea for your child – from Stampin’ Up! – what a great company to be in love with – they continually give great and sweet ideas!  This is from one of the creative artists, Erika.  Enjoy!

Personalized Class Valentines

I am so excited to make little valentines for my daughter Lucy to give out at school this year. She is just barely getting to the age where she appreciates stuff like that. I love the idea of personalizing the valentine with Lucy’s picture on it and I know she is going love that too. I came up with two ideas and I am still not sure which one I am going to go with. They are both super simple and inexpensive and have the perfect little personal touch to make them unique and fun.

For the personalized heart embellishment I stamped a bunch of hearts with the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set from the 2013 spring catalog. I ran them through the Big Shot with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. I then made up a heart in MDS 2 using the Be Mine stamp from the Be Mine Framable Designer Template. I printed it out and then cut out the heart. I took a few pictures of Lucy holding the heart, uploaded it to MDS 2, sized it to fit the Full Heart Punch, copied it a bunch of times and then printed it out. After punching out all the little pictures of Lucy I glued the two hearts together. They are not a perfect fit but I don’t mind.

For the pencil valentine I found some super cute valentine pencils at Target in the dollar bin that fit perfectly into our 1″ x 8″ cello bags. I put two pencils in the bag, sealed it and then I tied the personalized heart around the bag with Pool Party Baker’s Twine.

The pretzel valentine is a little more work but still super simple. I used our 4″ x 6″ cello bags to put hand dipped white chocolate pretzels in. If you need a fun little valentine activity for the kids this is a good one. Lucy had so much fun helping me add the cute sprinkles to the pretzels. To close the bag I used the Delicate Details Lace Tape from the spring catalog and then tied some Regal Rose 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around the bag and tied the heart on with Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

Now all I have to do is choose which one to make.
