HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of us who are moms.  I wanted to share my Mother’s Day card that was inspired by Yvette’s Easter card.  I thought it would make a lovely Mother’s Day card which we did in April’s class:

Mother's Day Card

I used Whisper White, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, gold glitter paper, and cardstock vellum.  The flowers are the 2nd smallest flower on the Blossom Party Originals Die. The polka-dotted oval is actually vellum cardstock – the effect of embossing vellum really makes it pop right out and is so pretty. The bottom corners of the card were rounded by using the 1-3/8″ circle punch.  Don’t go underneath the punch, but rather come in from the top and basically shove the end of your card in the front of the punch to create the rounded ends – very cool and I had not done this before, but it punched both pieces together at the same time, the front and the back.  The stamp set is from Delightful Dozen and the butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri.

Accessories: Fancy Fan Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Folder, Ovals Collection Framelits Dies, Blossom Party Originals Die, Big Shot, 1-3/8″ Circle Punch, Bird Builder Punch,  Bitty Butterfly Punch, Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button (Pool Party), Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Stampin’ Dimensionals.

So, here is the inside of our card using the digital download Wonderful Mother (#134536).  After I printed out what I wanted, I simply stamped a butterfly to complete it:

Just another way to use a digital download when you need just the right saying in a hurry!

The next project we did was create these cute little favor boxes, perfect for tucking lipstick, chapstick, or a little sample bottle of perfume from Victoria’s Secret!
