I am loving all the things you can do with the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit Die!  They are all over pinterest and this weekend I picked 5 of my favorite Halloween ones and did them up.  I thought I would share a little tutorial of two of them this week and the rest next week.  These are the boxes I did:

I thought I would share how to put together the cute witch box.  Here are the items you will need:

The hat is actually the tree punch from the holiday mini.  I adhered it to the top like this:

Then using the 3rd largest oval die from our oval framelit dies, cut out an oval in Wisteria Wonder and cut a slit in the middle of it long enough to accommodate the base of the tree so it will slide over the top of it.  You can then just slide it off to open your box to get the treats out of it.

For the “hair”, I used our Certainly Celery striped grosgrain ribbon that I had, although you could probably use the  Bermuda Bay as well.  I cut off each side binding of the ribbon and then pulled a chunk off and then tied a knot in the middle of it to hold it together like this:

Once you have all your pieces punched out, it is so easy to put this together.

Assemble your box.

Adhere the triangle tree to the top of the box – just bend the “trunk” and adhere your glue to that and let it dry for a minute.

Assemble your “eyes” and adhere to the box with glue dots.  For the eyebrows, punch out a circle and then just cut it into circular strips and cut them in pieces to create the curved eyebrows.  Adhere above the eyes.

I lightly sponged some Momento black ink around the nose and adhered it.

With a sharpie, draw your mouth and “freckles”.

Using a few glue dots on the knot of the “hair”, adhere to the inside top of the box so it will hang down, then trim the ends accordingly.

Slide the oval over the triangle tree to create your hat and you are done!

Here is the mummy – so EASY!!

Yep – just a ripped strip of paper and a sponge and Momento black ink and just sponge the strip all over to create his look.  I then took a 1×1 piece of black paper and ripped it slightly on all 4 sides, adhered it to the front of the box and then created the eyes using the 1/2 inch circle punch and 1/4 inch circle punch for the eyes and adhered them using a glue dot.

SOOO easy and quick!
