COTTON PAPER FUN!

I thought I would share with you some ideas I had for the NEW product – our cotton paper – what a deal at only $7.00 for SIXTEEN sheets in 4 colors!

Cherry on Top Cotton Paper Assortment by Stampin' Up!

These are SO EASY AND QUICK TO MAKE!  Here are some of the things I made and was excited to do these at my downline meeting last night so everyone could see for themselves how FUN this cotton paper is.  The first thing I needed was a Q-Tip holder for our bathroom, so this is what I came up with:

Q-Tip Holder

I hot glued our Burlap Ribbon around a plastic cup and created my flower and hot glued it onto the ribbon right at the seam.  It made a very pretty container to hold Q-Tips on the bathroom counter. Here is how the flower was created.  You need FIVE layers to create this flower, so using the third smallest die from the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Die:

Run your five sheets of appropriate size (I think it was 3 x 3) through the Big Shot:

Next with a stapler, put a staple right in the middle:

Next half turn it and staple it again criss-crossed:

Now start folding up the layers one at a time like this:

Second layer:

Keep doing this for each layer and you will get something like this:

Now gently unfold the layers and it creates a beautiful flower.

Green and Yellow flower

I created the flower above by adding a little strip of yellow that I cut into strips, hot glued it around a toothpick to hold it together, then with a pair of scissors cut off the end of the flower and toothpick just below the cut strip line and then inserted it in the middle of my flower with a dab of hot glue:

It gave a very pretty look by mixing the two colors.  Here is another idea that I had to identify glasses, sort of like wine charms, but done with the cotton flowers.  I chose these plastic glasses that we use in the summer all the time outside around our pool area.  I took parchment paper and placed a pony tail holder around the glass like this:

Then I placed hot glue all around the pony tail band and then wrapped my burlap ribbon around it.  The parchment paper will prevent the hot glue from sticking to the glass, and then hot glued my flower on the burlap ribbon:

Wait a few minutes to let things cool, and then just slide it off your glass and release the parchment paper from the holder and it looks like this:

Then just slide it up over your glass and you just have to remember what color flower you had to identify your drink – and how pretty would these look with multiple different colors!

These would look very pretty to create flower vases over mason jars, or hot glue them on a barrette for your hair, etc.  the possibilities are endless – LOVE THIS NEW COTTON PAPER!

Oh, and did you know that we have the Bouquet Bigz L die on Page 175 to create all different kinds of flowers using this cotton paper?  Check out the video from the catalog!

Here are my projects again, and I hope you will let me know if you try this product and what you made with it – it’s going to be a hit with everyone with all the fun things you can do with it!
